Poster Roughs

  1. Josh! I'm liking the greens and oranges! Try some posters with your greens and the blue color on that one. I love green. Also I like the shape of the basket as the primary visual on the poster. Maybe as you refine make it look rougher or more stylized or sumthen. k? cool.

  2. I really like the cleanliness of two and three and also eight and ten. I like the colors in eight the best as well. Maybe you could combine the goal image of two with the colors and layout of eight? I like the pictures in that one, but replace them with the goal, too, and see how that looks.

  3. I enjoy the illustrated versions, but the "goal?" starts to look more like a champagne glass at first. Maybe try adding a disk flying through the page somewhere/how. Possibly instead of the rectagular bar for the sideways version, make it a large disk shape instead.

My favorite is #5. I think the sideways is working best there, but would like to see it straight on as well.

"Victory...at no cost" Is a great slogan, I think you should incorporate that into your final design.

  4. Josh I think your most successful poster so far is the orange 2nd one. I like the simplicity of it I also like the the tag line you are using to white to relate to your neg. space. I think that your logo could be a little bit smaller in relation to the rest of you content you have there on the page.
~I love that you just used orange and white.

  5. I'm liking the disc shape in the first one and wondering if you could play with that more with the second and third ones. I think the combination of the disc and the basket would look good together. your color choice is good as well

  6. I'm really liking the bright colors you've been using. The one on the left of the last two, though, kind of makes me feel like it's an old poster that was placed in sunlight for way too long. It's too faded for me.

I like the one with the shape of the tree branches in the back the most, or at least the idea of it. I think if you could relate it more to the actual sport it would be really awesome!

I'm also liking the abstracted image of the net, but I think you might want to make it more obvious as to what it is (it took me a second to realize what it was, even though I've seen them before) because right now it looks like those magnolia(?) branches that break off in the fall. The ones with the pointy things on the inside where the flower used to be.

  7. The second and third poster designs are awesome. If I had to pick between the two, I'd say the orange one because it has the slogan which I imagine would be important for people looking for a way to be recreational for cheap.

  8. I really like the idea of "victory at no cost", however if you are doing a poster for the actual tournament that might not make sense there is an entry fee, therefore there is a cost.I really like the colors you are using, but I think that the bright neon green in the first one might be a little much. I also really like the blue you are using in number eight and I would like to see that incorporated somewhere else. As far as the design goes, I am most attracted to number 5, I like the simplicity, but there is still content.

  9. The icon=win. I think the posters with the disc golf goal are the strongest, mostly because they portray a competitive spirit. 5 would have to be the strongest for me as it mixes the golf and park aspect best. The icon you've made has a real "Olympic torch" feeling to it.

If you wanted a more traditional poster, one that conveys a lot of information, then 6 looks the best designed so far. The diagonals keep my eye moving and the text is appropriately placed to stop my eye and read.

  10. Hey there,
I would have to say 2 and 3 and also, 7. I am not the biggest fan of the green and orange color scheme. It kind of reminds me of school colors or something. I like the way you use it in #2 though.I like the teal like color and orange on 7, I would kind of like to see that teal, possibly a little more grayish.
